KARMA Carnival presents "LOST"

This weekend had a couple launches in NY, two of which were on the same day, Karma Carnival and Sesame Flyers. Again, one has to wonder why would two bands have launches on the same day when there are many other Saturdays in the year but alas, if it happens in Trinidad then its destined to happen worldwide!!

I am especially pleased with some of the color combinations used in Karma's presentation of LOST. It translates very well (color wise) and although I was not privy to the names, based on the theme and the colors used, I could make an educated guess as to what the costumes represented! Great job!

On that note, "designers" could take note from this presentation, where you see elements from Trinidad used but combined within the designer's own interpretation and created differently. Sure one can compare these designs to Trinidad but at least its tastefully done and not a DIRECT REPLICA in a different color! We all know where we can find replicas right ;)

I had a brief stint with KARMA a couple years ago during a presentation "Once Upon a Carnival".. While there, through the collaboration, the band was able to cop the titles of Queen of the Band (NY), Male and Female Individual of the Year. During that year, one could see that this small band was destined for greatness but still had a lot to learn. Good to see that at least from the costume perspective, GROWTH has begun...

On to the costumes... While I wont post all of them here, I will just show my favorites... Additional photos can be viewed HERE

Next time, I would carefully edit the pictures tho...
